After a 10 year hiatus, I started running again this past winter (Feb 2010). It took a lot of support for me to go from zero to running my first 5K race last month. Through the journey, I found myself relying on various motivators to keep running. Reporting to a friend. Bragging to whoever would listen. And, yes, even updates on Facebook and Twitter ensured that my feet kept moving.
So I thought, wouldn’t it be great to have a place where runners could keep each other motivated? I know I’m more likely to achieve my goal(s) if I’m accountable to someone or something.
Hence, Share the Run was formed. A community of runners of all sizes, steps, and goals. A place where those of us trying to run can talk running stuff (I’m still new…I’m not quite sure what stuff there will be…but I’m sure there is stuff) and support each other along the way (or give a tsk, tsk for missing runs…whatever the case may be).
So, in the wise words of those brilliant Raccoons: Run with Us!
