Dog Tired

Wednesday’s run was difficult; late home from work and already lacking the motivation to hop on the treadmill, I reached a compromise with myself: you can run for 15 minutes, but you need to do it at a more intense pace.

It worked. I was well and truly drained by the end of the session, but I had the dial cranked up to places I never thought it’d go.

Next challenge: taking my feet and running them outside.

    Hi Andy,
I’m loving running outside! Like you, I trained to run via treadmill, starting in February and maintaining that routine until June. It took a lot to get me to run outside, but I’ve been doing it for about 2 weeks now and I really do enjoy it. The cool refreshing air (especially in early morning) is wonderful. Good luck! Can’t wait to hear about your first try. Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t maintain the same time/pace as you have on the treadmill—different surfaces, etc. can affect those factors.
